Apples and Pears (but mostly pears)

Not long ago I won a giveaway on Leah's blog, 30 Something Curvy Me. Amongst other goodies, there was a £10 voucher for Apples and Pears clothing which I was particularly excited about!

I had ordered clothing from them before; a beautiful red dress (see below), but when it arrived it was too big and they were out of the size down. I still can't think about this without choking up.

Isn't it gorgeous?! They still have it here in a size 18, 22-24 and 26-28 if you're interested...

ANYWAY. I went on to have a look and instantly saw a sleeveless polka dot number with a little peter pan collar. I'm a sucker for polka dots. With my discount voucher it was only £9.99- what a bargain!

When it arrived I popped it straight on over leggings and wore it out for shopping/dinner with my friends. It wasn't until I came home that I realised that it could be worn in so many different ways and so I styled it up to show you...(apologies for the photos being taken inside a cupboard...I have no excuse.)

Casual: cardi, leggings, boots.

Smart/casual: black tights, wedges.

Work: black tights, wedges, jacket.

This is a size 16. I wouldn't usually get anything without stretch in such a small size, but for some reason these clothes seem to come up big on me. It's not roomy, but I know a size up would have been too big. The length is fantastic for me (I'm 5' 5" and it's knee length)- good for wearing with tights, but not too long for leggings either. The shape of the dress is also great; as a pear shape I like a dress to be fitted at the top and then to flare out from the waist. I wouldn't usually go for something with such a high neckline, but I really love the little collar- it's something a bit different for me.

Do check them out- they have some lovely bits in at the moment and, even better, a sale!
