New Year: Bardot Style

Happy New Year everyone! I'm not one for resolutions, but I do like to start the year feeling positive and optimistic (so enjoy it while it lasts).

I have been fairly naughty in the sales. Most of my sales shopping was done online and, by the end of Boxing Day, I had already already bought 5 dresses (1 is going back, I promise). Then on the 27th my sister and I went shopping and I might have bought more dresses...and some boots. Anyway, I digress. To New Year's Eve!

This year I flew up to Aberdeen to see some friends. We ended up going into town to see a rock covers band which was...a bit weird. Lots of swearing. Lots of screaming, actually. And at midnight they played the most depressing version of Auld Lang Syne I've EVER heard. Still, New Year is about spending time with the people you love, not the quality of the music (luckily).

It was smart casual so I decided to go for a dress/leggings/boots combo. The dress I went for is from the New Look Inspire collection. I have to say that Inspire are MUCH better than they used to be. It used to all be bed sheets with holes for you to stick your head through, but not this beauty!

Dress: New Look Inspire
Necklace: River Island
Boots: Evans

I felt comfortable in this all night and it was glam without being too over the top. I loved the unusual neckline and the flare of the skirt (I love a bodycon, but I honestly looked like I'd swallowed a melon when I put it on).

I think I might have to do it Bardot Style a little more often...
