Outfit August: 25th

Goodness me I've been flippin' awful at this challenge haven't I? Oh well, what with the house move and changing jobs and everything else this month it's been madness (and most of my clothes have been in piles all over the floor in the spare room as we *still* haven't bought a wardrobe).

Last night we went to a gig and I decided to wear this little number. I picked it up in the ASOS sale a while ago and never wore it due to being a little unsure about the shape (I'm still not sure I'm a swing dress girl). I decided to keep it simple with leggings, boots and a chunky chain.

Necklace: H&M
Boots: Evans

If you do like it it's still available and only £15 in the sale! I found it was pretty true to size and the little PU sleeves are nice and stretchy if your arms are of the hench variety like mine.

OOTD: Scholz and Stripes

I love Anna Scholz. Generally (well, always) her pieces are a little out of my price range, but once the sales are on I pounce like a fashion ninja.

When this dress arrived last night I shrieked, threw it on and then sat on the sofa waiting for daybreak so I could wear it to work (around 75% of this sentence is true). I managed to snap a couple of photos on the way to the tube this morning, so please forgive my morning face! (Also a woman walked past and clearly thought I was nuts.)

Dress: Anna Scholz
Cat bag: H&M

Outfit August: 10th

Things I am good at: remembering to take photos. Things I'm really good at: keeping hundreds of photos stored on my computer and not actually uploading them. Oh well! This little dress is from Apples and Pears Clothing, an online store I am particularly partial to. I wouldn't usually wear leggings with a dress of this length, but I think they look fine. Animal print for life, yo!

Dress: Apples and Pears (def size down on this)
Leggings: Simply Be
Shoes: Asda
Bag: H&M

Style XL

I can barely believe it was nearly 2 weeks ago, but Style XL came and went in a flash. Style XL was the first (and probably last) plus size fashion event and I was strutting (or hobbling) my stuff on the cat walk.

Having been to events where people were running around like headless chickens, I have to say that Leah ran this like clockwork. At no point was I ever confused about where to be or what I was wearing, I was constantly being offered tea/coffee/squash/biscuits by the wonderful Sarah and Leah's mum and partner were also on hand to make sure we were all looked after.

Of course the best thing about the day was meeting so many amazing women, some of whom I'd been waiting a long time to meet in the flesh, including Nikki, Elena, Sam, Mookie, Sara, Becky, Debz, Lucia and Toni (there are more, I'm trying to remember!) A close second was getting to wear some great clothes from brands like Simply Be, Yours Clothing, Apples and Pears and MS SVG. I came away with some amazing earrings from Chunky Cat Cuddler too, which I will be werking in the weeks to come.

Not sure what was happening here...

Favourite dress of the day was probably this little number by Yours Clothing. I would never ever have picked it up off the hanger, but I didn't mind it on at all! I have an 18 on here and it's a little tight, particularly around the arm holes so if you're busty then you'll probably need to size up.

Although everyone I met was really supportive and I loved (nearly) all of the clothes I was wearing, I don't think I'll be modelling again. It was something I wanted to tick off the list and to get out of my comfort zone, but Naomi Campbell I am not. I'm really looking forward to going to Plus North, cheering on the models there and just enjoying being a spectator!

Outfit August: 9th

This past weekend has been absolutely manic. Why? BECAUSE WE'VE FINALLY MOVED! From a studio to a two bedroom flat. I can't even explain to you how amazing it is to sleep in one room, walk down a hall way to the next, make a cup of tea in the kitchen and then take it through to the living room. So much space I don't know what to do with it (walk in wardrobe anyone?)

Moving has meant I've spent the past three days with my hair in a pineapple, no make up, bleached stained leggings and baggy tshirts. We went out for my Grandmother's birthday on Saturday night, so I had to clean myself up a bit and went for this New Look Inspire number with leggings. Casual, but chic (I think).

Top/Dress: New Look Inspire
Chain: Simply Be*
Leggings: H&M
Flats: Asda (so comfy, must buy more pairs)

Outfit August: 4th

I am hoping that Outfit August, a little initiative by Leah, will encourage me to blog more and start using some of the bits I already have in my overflowing wardrobe (I feel a blog/eBay/Depop sale coming on shortly).

This is the outfit I wore to Style XL on Saturday (big post on that coming up!) and you've all seen it before. I just love this jumpsuit. It's so easy to throw on, dress up with a statement necklace and heels or dress down with a pair of pumps. It's become an absolute staple for me AND it was such a bargain too! Unfortunately it only goes up to an 18, but my size 20 arse fits in it with LOTS of room to spare so if you're bigger I'd say give it a go.

Jumpsuit: Matalan
Chunky chain: H&M (similar here)
Silver heels: Evans (old)
